Soaking in the Truth

Meditating on Psalm 139 everyday is like soaking in the truth....I am drinking in the reality of God's love for me. When we marinate, or soak, in God's Truth, something different takes place in us: we are changed from the inside out. Our attitudes, our hearts and our mindsets change.

Rick Warren said, " We have a lot to unlearn. Since most of our problems - and all of our bad habits - didn't develope overnight, it's unrealistic to expect them to go away immediately. It requires the hard work of removal & replenishment."

We need to make sure that the process of dealing with false beliefs is based solely on the truth of God's Word. John 8:32 - "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." Truth sets us free. The Word of God is truth and it can produce freedom by opening our spiritual eyes that we might truly be healed.

It's not what we know, it's what we choose to believe and live out that changes things. We live based on what we really believe, and our choices are based on the core belief system that we live by. I know of truth in my head.....it isn't enough to know all of the right information if I am not living it out in my own life. We can know all the verses by memory, but if we haven't really accepted them as truth by letting them transform every aspect of our lives....we will remain stuck with a lot of head information with little life transformation. God loves me for me, not because of anything I do or say but simply because He loves me! He longs for me to know Him and His love for me.

Choosing to believe in the reality of God's love for me and living in His freedom is based on trust....I will never be able to truly embrace this new reality until I trust in Him. This is where I have found myself stuck in my journey with Christ. Because of my past & not believing I had value and worth, I also had trouble really believing and accepting how much God loves me. I cannot stay stuck in my past, my background, choices I have made in relationships, or any experiences I had growing up, I need to live today in God's love & plan for my life. I want to be transformed from the inside out, I don't want the adversary to steal away any part of me, I want to be free.

1 John 4:16 - "We have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us."

Thank you, Father, that You are the One who defines me as a woman. I don't have to get swallowed up in my past, in other people's expectaions, in my own choices or even in the sin of unbelief. Instead I choose to trust You with all of me. Father, show me the path You have designed for me.
