Set Free by a New Reality

I have been on a journey back to the basics of what it means to live in the reality of God's love. I have asked God like the psalmist to "Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." (Ps. 139:23-24)
Getting back to the basics is returning to a foundational starting point. Going back....reflecting, remembering what you did at the beginning because we tend to drift away or lose our focus in life. Revelation 2:4 - " ...You have forsaken your first love." It is good to slow down and take a fresh look at the truth in God's word and learn what it means to read it and digest it. It is about sitting long enough with a nugget of truth that it begins to nourish you, change you, and build in you a new belief system.
I began reading Psalm 139 every day asking the Lord to nourish me, change me & build a new belief system in my life from the truth of His Word. I have realized that I have built my life on so many other foundations other than Jesus and looked to them as my source or satisfaction in life. They became my sence of worth and value instead of finding my worth & value in Christ.
I began to picture a cake in my mind. The foundation (the cake) was all about me and my life - Mark, my girls, our home, ministry, friends...all good things, but Jesus became just the sweet icing on top of the cake, when He was supposed to be the substance - the cake. Jesus wants to be my foundation, my source of satisfaction, my everything.....not just the sweet icing or fluff in my life. He is Everything!

As I continue to daily read Psalm 139, He is reminding me that - He Knows me....He gets me, understands me; He Protects Me; He Made Me; He Values Me. God is showing me at a deeper level the truth of His involvement in my life and His love for me as I never understood before.
It's not what we know, it's what we choose to believe and live out that changes things. We live based on what we really believe, and our choices are based on the core belief system that we live by.
John 8:32 - "And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (NLT)

John 14:6 - "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Lord, I want to Live in the Reality of Your love, change me from the inside-out.
