Our children often remind us of spiritual truths and keep us on track. This is a picture of Katie when she was about 4yrs old. When she was little she couldn't pronounce her L's right. She replaced her L's with a Y sound. It was so cute because she would say kiss me on the yips, or I want to sit on your yap, or yook at me:) Anyway she would also say very infatically "Mom, yisten to me....Mom, yisten to me" over and over until she had my undivided attention and then she could ask me something or say what she needed to say. She wanted me to (y)look at her....to focus on her so that I could hear what she was saying. She didn't want to talk to me while I was busy doing something else because even at 4yrs old she knew I wasn't paying attention and I may not even be listening.
It feels good when those I am talking to to "hear me", when they give me there attention because it shows that they care about me, love me & value me. As I was reading my devotions this morning I read in Psalm 116:1-2 -"I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath! (NLT) And in The Message it says - "I love God because he listened to me, listened as I begged for mercy. He listened so intently as I laid out my case before him." God's Word continues to breathe life into my life everyday. If we feel like no one is listening to us we can know that Jesus always hears our voice and He listens to us.

Amen! Linda, this is very cute... I remember Stephanie talking like that too, and now she is almost 18, ready to go to college... wow!
Those verses are great encouragement. God's Word is amazing. Here is one for you, Romans 15:4 "Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God's promises to be fulfilled."
God bless you and your family!!!
