Coffee....Fresh or Stale?

I love a fresh cup of coffee.....I love the smell from the time I open up the package & then as it is brewing the aroma fills the room. Aha....I am savoring it before I even pour it into my favorite coffee mug. Yes!! I even have a favorite coffee mug....don't you?
The best coffee shops grind their beans daily, perhaps several times each day. And when that superheated water engages with the dark, rich, ground java - ah....the steaming fragrance reaches right around the corner to draw you in.

Imagine this, I go into my favorite coffee shop and buy my favorite latte one morning, stop home to leave my favorite cup of coffee on the kitchen counter, I let it sit there all day and then when I get home I microwave it to enjoy that evening. No, no, no. I would much rather enjoy it fresh & hot. It needs to be fresh not stale and re-heated.

I enjoy my time with God fresh, every morning....not stale. Jeremiah reminds me that "His compassions never fail. They are new every morning, great is His faithfulness." God gives us fresh strength for those who are weary, fresh courage when I am afraid, fresh endurance when I am struggling to take the next step, fresh wisdom when I don't know what to do, fresh mercy & forgiveness when I get tripped up and fail.

Stale doesn't work for me with my coffee, pastries, breads & it definately doesn't work in my relationship with God. I need to stay connected to Him every day and I want to recieve from His Word a fresh perspective for my day.
