As I was having my quiet time with the Lord and reading over this verse I began to think of filling up the cup of my life. I can seek to fill my cup through approval, affirmation, control, success, or immediate gratification......and the truth is I am miserable until something is in it. Until my cup is full.
Psalm 143:8 - "Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul."
I love and appreciate this word from the Lord.......what a heavy yoke is shattered when I awaken in the morning, bringing my heart, mind, and soul to my Heavenly Father, offer Him my empty cup and ask Him to fill it with Himself!
No one is more pleasurable to be around than a person who has had her cup filled by the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the only One who is never overwhelmed by the depth and length of my need.
Romans 8:38-39 - "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
My prayer for you and my prayer for me......offer to Him your empty cup and imagine with me how different our days would be if we had our cups filled by Christ first thing in the morning. We would no longer need to walk around looking for someone or something to fill our cups. We do not need to live like a pauper / a beggar waiting for someone to drop spare change in our cups. We are daughters of the King! We are His Princess! Once we are filled by Him the lover of our soul than any love and affirmation we recieve from those around us is like the icing on the cake......it is the extra......we are already filled to the brim and flowing over into their lives.
