Have you heard this lately.....Not yet. This isn't easy to swallow. I have said this to my girls.....Not yet, you have to wait, maybe later, or not until you are older.....but I definately don't like to hear the words - Not yet. I can grow very impatient and even restless with the waiting. This lesson of Not yet continues to shape the character of my heart. I really have to trust God to wait. To believe in His divine love for me. I have to lean into His arms of love and grace and stop fidgeting with my own agenda.....I need to surrender my plans and my pride to Him, the only One I can truly trust. The One who would rather die than to ever live without me....this kind of love is rare & supernatural. Waiting requires so much trust and maturity that I understand why we just walk away and give up - I have to resist the temptation of walking away, stepping out of my place in line and abandoning what I have been made for because the wait seemed too long.
Almost every area of our lives requires a wait that is beyond our own ability. Jesus beckons us to keep our eyes focused on Him, to continue to believe Him more than anything......stay in line.....stay on the path.
Proverbs 27:8- "Like a bird that strays from its nest is a man who strays from his home."
Proverbs 4:11-13 - "I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble. Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life."
Proverbs 4: 26-27 - "Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil."
(NLT) - "Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path.
Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil."
Listen to the Holy Spirit whisper in your ear, Stay in line. Do not rush ahead of God. Stand with your head up. Stand with honor. Soon, it will be your turn.
Proverbs 3:5-6 - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take."
